INVITATION TO ALL LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL & TRANS-GENDER AFFECTED BY HIV/AIDS FOR A CONSULTATION ON SERVICES
WHO ARE WE?
The Centre for All Families Positive Health is local organisation providing HIV/AIDS support services and HIV/AIDS awareness to the community in the East of England with offices in Luton and Bedford.
CAFPH is a charitable organisation and is peer led with great involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS at all levels. The aim of the organisation is to combat isolation, fear, stigma, prejudice, improve and enhance the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS, promote sexual health and HIV/AIDS awareness in the community and in other agencies and raise aspirations of people living with HIV/AIDS through empowerment, support, enhancing self-esteem and general wellbeing.
WHAT DO WE DO?
CAFPH provides: a safe and supportive environment for men and women to discuss issues affecting them. Appropriate information and advice on a range of issues related to HIV/AIDS i.e treatment, adherence, nutrition, pregnancy, safer sex and general sexual health, referrals to appropriate agencies, social networks to relieve isolation through social events, outreach services e.g. home and hospital visits etc, volunteering opportunities both for clients and others, peer educators and positive speaker’s programmes for health promotions and peer support and counselling, partnership work with other agencies, training and education for clients, volunteers and other agencies.

- Treatment support, information and advocacy with a reminder service
- Aroma Therapy massage
- Support groups(gender based and mixed)
- Advice on benefits, housing (in partnership with Luton Advice Network)
- Information workshops on relevant topics
- Hospital and home visits
- Psychological support (provided by a clinical psychologist)
- Peer support
- Condom distribution
Although services are open to everyone, CAFPH would like to develop services that specifically respond to the needs of the gay community especially those from ethnic minorities and we welcome suggestions towards this effort.
